20th century coal mine (possible also reused Ironstone Pit (19th Century). Now buried or erased within opencast mine grounds.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Shown as 'Old Ironstone Pit' (NS 78777 68993) on 1864 OS 6" map, & 'Old Shaft' (NS 78839 69012) on 1914 edition. Coordinates are similar bur not identical. It is possible that Pit No.13 was a separate neighbouring coal pit on the E side of the same site, rather than reusing an old ironstone pit for coal.
Given coordinates (NS 78853 69008) based on pit shaft location shown on Geological Survey 6" map (labelled as 'No13').
