Mine (Fireclay & Coal), 20th Century.
Relatively extensive workings in Upper & Lower Leaf fireclay seams. An earlier section (part of the Chapelhall Colliery) was present to W, closed in 1927, and eventually joined to the main complex. See abandonment plan (in refs) for detailed complex layout.
