Mine (Coal), pre-1867
Shaft situated over E end of workings mined in conjunction with the No.2 Pit situated 250m to the west. Shaft was sunk to the Gas Coal at 71m, now probably buried below garden grounds on W side of Knightswood Baptist Church.

Notes: Geol' Survey map states 39 fathoms [71m] to Gas Coal. Named as "No.5 Pit" on mine plan (14717).
