A tall, mostly intertidal, rift sea-cave which passes through the headland on a 196 deg bearing (S by W). It is larger and taller at the N end. The rift leans about 12.6 deg W at the top.
At high tide and in low swell it is possible to take a kayak inside the N tunnel. There is a fairly vertical rock wall at the end of the intertidal channel and the rift continues to the S entrances on the E side of a dividing pillar and there is another rift on the W side whose length is unknown (at 15/7/22).
The south end is at NO 88104 83438 (from Canmore Aerial), and there is a SE supratidal side entrance at NO 88111 83447.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Access: swim from Old Hall Bay
by sea at a springs high tide, by kayak. There is a very narrow part in the approach channel which was just wide enough to allow a 0.550 m wide kayak through when the tide level was 4.6 m.
As of 15/6/22 this cave is not known to have been passed through.
The length is what it would be if as drawn on !st Ed OS. As of 2 June 22, this must be regarded as unproven at best.
