Mine (Lead).
Shaft forming part of the New Glencrieff Mine, sunk into the East Branch of the New Glencrieff Vein. Mine plans suggest that this shaft is located over the Adit Level.
See: New Glencrieff Mine (Adit Level) [site #1099]
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Shown as 'Old Shaft' on 1899 OS map.
Not to be confused with shafts along the separate Adit Level of the West Glencrieff Pit (also part of the New Glencrieff Mine complex). The New Glencrieff Adit Level terminates below the Meadowfoot Cemetery.
