Adit(s).
Obvious boarded-up adit visible in front of an old miners' cottage, c. 25m SW of the Straitsteps Beam Engine. Three old mine carts are fenced off in front of the old portal that accessed the Staitstep Vein workings.
Mine Plan SP1827 shows the end of a passage where the adit portal is seen today, & would suggest that it leads NE to the neighbouring Engine Shaft. The same plan shows a south-easterly offshoot of this level, which ends where the OS 25" map of 1899 shows 'Old Level' at [NS 8702 1312]. The latter site is now occupied by a blocked depression, ca. 10m SE of the circular horse-trodden markings.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
